30 Days of Honesty (and one dare) - Day 11

Day 11 — When I’ve had a really bad day the first thing (not person) I reach for is…

Food.  I eat my feelings.  Moo. Or should I say oink?

Really though, if not food, I guess my comforts are a long hot shower (washing away the stench of failure?), an afternoon of cleaning (at least I can do THAT right!), a nap (needs no explanation.)

I'm actually really looking forward to seeing what everyone else has to say...

  1. Lots of people use food to relax and hide the stress of the day. What failure are you talking about?

    1. I think the failure is the loss of control. I hate that I use food to make up for hurt feelings.

  2. I turn to food too, sometimes it just makes everything better.

  3. Oh man. There is nothing that a rearranged living room can't solve. What's that life? You want to get out of my control? Well then screeeew you! Imma just put this couch here and that bookshelf there and voila - control is back on my terms, bitches!!!

  4. I wish I considered cleaning relaxing. My room in basically a very messy closet at the moment. Clothes EVERYWHERE.
A shower. That I can relate to. No matter how bad I'm feeling I always feel ten times better after a nice, long shower.

  5. i comfort eat, too. i love candy and sugar when i'm feeling stressed!

it's not so bad though. i used to smoke, and that's way worse! i don't booze anymore at all, so there's that too.

and cleaning IS relaxing. stress feels chaotic, stress is when you're stretched too thin or have too much going on, too many thoughts in my head. cleaning simplifies. it's de-cluttering, making a space look nicer. tidying and cleaning totally comfort me too.
