30 Days of Honesty (and one dare) - Day 3

Day 03 — Regardless of my current status, do I believe a person should save themself for marriage…

Ooh, sticky one.  Do I believe in saving oneself for marriage?  I suppose it depends on who's asking.  If you're my 13 year old sister, Yes!  If you're my young son, Yes, times seven zillion!  But for the rest of the human population, I suppose not.

Sex is special, and it's never been something I've taken lightly.  But at the end of the day, it's not all there is.  To me, it's an expression of a level of commitment in a relationship that does not hinge upon the exchanging of rings.  I don't regret any of the decisions I've made, including the fact that my husband is not my first.  And my husband's only regret?  That I don't express my commitment a little more often.  Sorry, honey.

    1. This is true. It's *A* way to express commitment. Not *THE ONLY* way!

  3. i love how you answered that question in the beginning. but it is true. it depends really. but ultimately it is a personal decision. whatever values a person have will determine the answer. to each his own.

    1. I guess I think it's a mixture of values and experiences and everything that goes into what brought you to the place you're at as the person you are. I think there's no wrong answer to this, just differing interesting perspectives.

  4. I agree with you, with my niece, I have told her to WAIT, but what everyone else does... it's up to them.

  6. Very true indeed, it's a personal decision. The right and wrongs of it really are a shade of grey.

  7. Hahaha. Yes!
I love your first paragraph. :D
I know some people out there think that telling younger kids that they should wait is kind of lie, but I don't think so. It's a way to stress how it's not something you should make such a big decision just because your friends are doing. :)
